Thru-hikers are Trail United’s ultra-light elite athletes that help inform the performance aspects of our footwear.
What is Thru-hiking?
By Definition, Thru hiking is an end-to-end backpacking trip on a long-distance trail like the A.T., PCT, or the newest trail in this class the CDT. These hikes range from 2,100 to 3,100 miles, and run through most of the North America.

At Trail United, we embrace the thru-hikers motto 'Hike your own hike,' which encourages self-expression and individuality. This philosophy is not just about hitting the trails, but about embracing life and all it has to offer. First, we start with an anatomical last that provides plenty of room for your toes to move around comortably, a secure fit in the heel and instep to keep you stable on the trail. Then we focus on the materials and construction of the shoe to provide your foot with exceptional arch support and all-around foot comfort. Rest assured whatever adventure you choose outside, your feet and footwear will fit right in.

Our commitment to creating lightweight and versatile products is driven by a desire to improve comfort and performance, while also reducing waste and supporting sustainability. Our goal is to make shoes that weigh less than 16 ounces, allowing you to move with ease and comfort no matter where you go. Not only that, but our products are stylish enough to be worn for a variety of activities and occasions, which means you won't have to buy multiple pairs and contribute to landfills. By prioritizing lightweight design and versatility, we're able to make a positive impact on both your daily life and the planet.
